Founder & instructor
Ramya Shankaran’s journey in Bharatanatyam commenced at the very young age of four under the tutelage of Guru Sunitha and Guru Marie Stella from Kalaikaveri School of Fine Arts, Trichy, India. At the age of twelve, Ramya came under the guidance of Guru Madhavi Chandra Sekar in Trichy, India. She started to learn the “Mohiniyattam” classical art form of Kerala under the guidance of Kalamandalam Guru Kumari Menon for four years.

Categories & Levels
At Adhyaathma our classes are classified into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The Syllabus for each category will be discussed in detail upon registration.
Beginner
Level (1-2) Beginner
We will mold up the kid for dancing. Starting with basic adavus, move on to slokas. Upon completion students will receive a “certificate”
Intermediate
Level (3-4) Intermediate
Students will focus more on higher-level adavus, Technical information ,Theories and one song to perform. Upon completion students will receive a “certificate”
Advanced
Level (5-6) Advanced
Complete margam will be taught with perfectly sculpted adavus, they will get to learn the theories of dance.Upon completion students will receive a “certificate”

I joined Ramya mam's classes because I had a childhood dream to learn Bharatnatyam. She is a very well skilled instructor, who is deeply passionate about dance. Her love and dedication for her craft is evident in her performances and in the recent book she wrote combining her two loves - dance and architecture.
