Suchitra Sridhar

Smt. Suchitra Sridhar is pursuing a Ph.D. in Carnatic music. She is the disciple of Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. R Vedavalli who is a recipient of Sangita Kalanidhi which is considered the highest award in Carnatic music.

Suchitra got an introduction to Carnatic music at an early age of 6 from Mrs.Sudha Seshagopalan. Later she got training from Vidwan Madurai Shri.R. Kannan, who is a disciple of Padmabhushan Sangita Kalanidhi Madurai Shri.T.N. Seshagopalan. Being an avid learner in Music, since 2012 she is under the tutelage of Sangita Kalanidhi Vidushi Dr.R.Vedavalli.

𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘳𝘢 is a recipient of “The Padams and Javalis” scholarship under the auspices of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.

𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘳𝘢 was one of the top three winners of the Bala Baskara Award – 2012 instituted by VDS Arts Academy, Chennai. She was also rated as an excellent performer for the year 2010 by VDS Arts Academy.

She has won prizes in Sathguru Sangita Samajam in Madurai at various levels and categories. Competed and won prizes at various inter-school, intercollegiate, and Zonal level competitions.
